THANK GOD FOR DIRTY DISHES

Once upon a time, ahihi, it actually was just last year, i read a touching post from the famous facebook page Humans of New York. In which, Brandon, the admin as well as the founder of HoNY told his readers a story of a homeless woman he met on some street of the city. The highlight of the post was what she said: “My biggest goal is to be completely normal. I want to wake up in a bed every morning, take a shower, drink a cup of coffee, eat breakfast, and read the paper. I was totally impressed, then depressed with her goal. It'd haunted me for a long time. I'd thought back & forth about it. Omg, she woke me up & made me realize what i have currently had. A fully furnished & convenient house, a warm home with my parents living with me, a solid roof above my head, a comfortable bed under my back with smooth sheet and fragrant blanket on, yes, are all which i've taken for granted as 'certain' & 'normal' ...

Now that I learn this and I am so grateful I have parents and siblings to love & to live with, a home to keep clean, meals to eat off, clean clothes to put on, a small workshop to work at, daily. (Wait, I just don't have much money in banks, hmmm../). And since then, what do i now firstly think of every morning I wake up ? I think of that homeless woman & wish her would win a normal life that everyone must have deserved. And wish my beloved ones well...

Then i get up, make the bed, turn some music on, take a shower, put on clothes, go to work, have breakfast & drink coffee there while reading news or some style magazine... Every single moment of doing them, i do cherish, deeply.

Today is the last Thursday of November. Yes, it's Thanksgiving day, in US. There's an old Italian poem that may make sense to be written down today to remind us of something, to honour the day, and to cheer us up...

"Thank God for dirty dishes They have their tale to tell While others may go hungry We're still eating well..."

Happy Thanksgiving ! <3 ........ Pix were taken for ON-THE-SHELF, with a Fuji XT1 35mm.
